Bridging the GAP

It's easy to see how a down payment affects what you owe on a contract, but how the market value affects what your insurance company pays is not. Most contract balances decrease at a predictable rate. Variables affect the market value. This means that your car may be worth less than what is owed. This often happens early in your contract, when you have the most to lose. GAP covers the remaining balance after your auto insurance pays their portion and even covers your insurance deductible up to $1000.00.*
